(add to IMVU buddy list)
Friends & fans of Breathless Anticipation I am your host, PingPanther. My staff and I provide these clubs to entertain you as our guests. Our staff has been instructed to send you to this page to let you know more about how we open the air waves for you to play music.

Sharing the air waves
Most of the time you are of course free to play music.

However we ask that you first clear it with the staff and never play forced or triggered music (such as songs embedded with jewelry) that can not be muted.

If we have an event or a special party in progress we may ask you to hold your requests until a more suitable time. If no staff is present we ask our guests to consider what the other guests might like to hear.

Not everyone will ever agree what music to play, however if you are here reading this and you send others to see this page, you and they will see that there are a number of music options. Not everyone has to listen to the same thing even though you are in the same room together. That's right, one group of guests may be listening to playlists while another group is tuned in to the room's radio stream.

How to add to the playlist
When you pay to buy IMVU music its always nice to get to play it for your friends. Breathless Anticipation invites guests and staff to play music following a few easy guidelines.

When it's busy, play what's popular or accepted by the group as mainstream. Save the weird and obsure songs for slow times and special moments. You'll know when those are. The clubs are filled with real people. The tempo and mood of the club is very dynamic. Be appropriate for the mood of the crowd and you'll do fine.

In busy rooms keep your play list short (3 to 5 songs). Try and encourage others to add their playlists.

Many play lists can be added by many users all at the same time. Encourage guests and staff members to "stack" the playlist with a mix from many users. Be sure to send guests and staff members to this page to help everyone understand the many music options we offer. Most of all enjoy the music at all of the Breathless clubs. Our staff is there to help you get the most out of all of our features.

Playlist vs. Radio vs. Jukebox
Playlists are of course completely custom and created by you. They come from the IMVU music you buy. We very much welcome this sort of delivery of music into our clubs. Playlist music delivery has relatively low bandwidth consumption and keeps room download times to a minumum. Users that are having trouble with downloading the room should know that they can stop the playlist stream.

How to stop playlist music stream

  • Click on "Music" tab in IMVU chat window
  • Locate the Pause/Play button
  • Click to stop

We tried JukeBoxes. They have too few songs and are a heavy burden on bandwidth so we no longer use them. Users simply were unable to fully connect. They also can not be silenced by endusers.

Note from YourJulie: the jukebox in BA-PG is actually a radio.

Radio streams are awesome when it comes to bandwidth conservation. They have many available stations and an unlimited number of songs. They also don't require that anyone in the room purchase IMVU music. Everyone in the room can tune into the same station and those tuned in hear the same song. If someone changes the station, the station will change for all the users in the room that are listening to the radio (so be kind by asking to change it).

I want to hear something else
Because you as a guest can stop the "playlist" from streaming to you, and because this is also true of the "radio" stream, if you do not enjoy the option to which you are listening, you can always switch from one to the another. Of course you can also play your private music collection at home as well.

Can I be a Breathless DJ?
We do have people that work as DJ's however we do not limit their participation to just playing music. See our staff pages for more about how we staff the clubs.

Why do I hear more than one song?
This is a common problem but fear not, the solution is in your hands. I have made sure that the playlist and the radio can be turned off. Usually this happens when someone that is already listening to a playlist accidentally clicks on the radio. When you click on the radio it automatically begins to play. Simply click on the Play/Pause button of either the playlist or the radio.

To stop the "radio" just click on the radio pause/play option that appears in the top left of the chat window.

    To stop the "playlist"

  • Click on "Music" tab in IMVU chat window
  • Locate the Pause/Play button
  • Click to stop

Finally there are other ways that you can end up hearing more than one music source. If you have a web browser open check to see if there is music playing on that. The following is a part of a convo I had in IMVU.

PingPanther: omg ~slaps forehead~ I just realized I am listening to three pieces of music at once. hahahaha
    PingPanther: two on this computer
    PingPanther: one on another computer
PingPanther: and the tv is on too
PingPanther: thats four audio sources I am listening to all at the same time
PingPanther: omg I shit you not the icecream man is driving by with his little tune going too
